People say that your psychic abilities can come two ways. One is if you have it when you are very little and continue it through life OR have a traumatic experience. The latter happened for me.

In 1990, I met Cybell. She introduced me to a metaphysical place called the Love Center in Huntington, New York.  There were many different classes offered in Spiritual Development and Healing.  One evening while at the Love Center, I decided to take a class in psychometry. Psychometry is a practice which allows you to feel a person's energy by holding a personal item of theirs.  Usually items such as jewelry or clothing are used.  You can even feel a person's energy by holding a card between their hands for a short time. The teacher of this class was also the person who ran the Love Center. Her name is Ellie, or as those who know her call her Mama Ellie.  

Mama Ellie had a tarot deck in the circle we were all sitting in.  She suggested I pick a card from the deck and hold it between my hands. She then took the card from my hands and said I had suffered a great loss and while I thought that I hit rock bottom, I did not. It would take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks for me to hit bottom. From that time forward it would take 2 years to grow.  I would then emerge into a beautiful spiritual person. Mama Ellie also said that old friends would fade away and new ones would enter in order to help me on my new path. I thought she must be kidding. But that is exactly how it happened! I thank the Love Center and all the many people who helped me on my spiritual path for if it wasn't for Spirit bringing Cybell and then the Center to me, who knows where I would be today!
